Description

Private Tour Grand Palace & Wat Arun

08:00 hrs. Pick up from various hotels in Central Bangkok. After that whisk you off to Bangkok Grand Palace & Emerald Buddha, Bangkok’s most famous attraction.

The Grand Palace, It is actually a complex of buildings and served as the official residence of the king of Thailand from the 18th century to the early 20th century. Today, it is used only for ceremonial purposes. The complex consists of over 100 brightly colored buildings, golden spires and glittering mosaics.

Some buildings in the complex are in pure Thai architectural style. Others, like the magnificent Dusit Hall, show signs of European influence. Dusit Hall used to serve as the Funeral Hall of the Grand Palace.

You will also be able to visit Thailand’s most sacred shrine – Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) – which contains the small and much revered Emerald Buddha. The Jade Buddha (between 60 and 75 cm tall statue) dates back to the 14th century and is located high above the heads of the worshipers and tourists. The murals that adorn the walls of the Temple depict scenes from the Thai version of the Hindu epic Ramayana.

Next visit is Wat Arun (The Temple of Dawn): You stop at the dazzling Temple of Dawn (Thai: Wat Arun) along the way. This is the best-known landmark and photographed image in Bangkok. It stands on the west bank of the Chao Phraya and its colossal spire (Thai: Prang) is one of Bangkok's world-famous landmarks. Over 70 meters high, the spire is beautifully decorated with tiny pieces of colored glass and Chinese porcelain placed delicately into intricate patterns.

14:30 hrs. At the end of the excursion, you will be dropped back at your hotel in Bangkok.
